IDBIOMETRICS CEO, David Raudabaugh welcomes Professor Hung as a member of its advisory board.  “We are excited to add Professor Hung to our advisory board.  His skills in computer vision and image processing, have lead to many research projects from the private and public sectors, providing Dr. Hung the opportunity to present and publish many of his findings.  His personal knowledge and ability to motivate others has provided him with students from around the world in pursuit of advanced studies.”  Lyn Loveless, CFO of IDBIOMETRICS added, “Dr. Hung’s experience will help guide our product development.  The university is a great place to evaluate and hire future engineers for the company and will be the immediate focus for Dr. Hung.”

 

Chih-Chen Hung is a professor in the School of Computing and Software Engineering (CSE) at Southern Polytechnic State University.  His experience in research and development include collaborations with the, U.S. ARMY MICOM, NASA, NASA/ASGC (Alabama Space Grant Consortium), NSF, and DOE/University of Alabama.
In addition, he holds guest professorship from The Center for Biomedical Imaging and Bioinformatics, Huachong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China and The State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.  His research interests include image/video processing and analysis, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, swarm intelligence, neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, information fusion, image/video retrieval, parallel processing, and software metrics.

Professor Hung is also a member of several professional organizations including IEEE, ACM, IEEE signal processing society, Pattern Recognition Society, International Society for Computers and their Applications (ISCA), International Association for Computer & Information Science, The Chinese-American Academic and Professional Association in Southeastern United States (CAPASUS).  He is also a member of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society in the Computing Sciences and a member of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honor Society of America. He has received the IEEE 2000 Millennium Medal for professional contributions.
